What we're all about!
The Allington Wanderers are 3 friends who met when working for the Allington NHS Trust at the end of the last century. Jeff Deane, Simon Pentney and David Farthing make up the group and have been meeting every month for the past 12 years, originally playing squash and more recently badminton, tennis and table tennis. This year they are undertaking a charitable fund raising walk for the first time together.
Between 17th and 23rd July 2011 they will walk from Glasgow to Fort William, Scotland taking in the route known as the West Highland Way. The distance covered will be 100 miles and although using hostels and B&B's overnight they will each be carrying a 65 litre rucksack.
Training has been taking place every fortnight since early April and each member has his own chosen charity. Details of each team member appear on their own individual page, which also shows links to their charity giving site.
Daily updates from the walk will enable followers of the friends to keep up to date with events.
